Vancouver biotech startup AbSci raises $65 million

Stock image AbSci, a Vancouver company with an innovative technology for biomanufacturing, said Tuesday it has raised $65 million to increase production and support its research. The company has a technique it calls “protein printing” that AbSci says will enable production of biologic drugs made from living organisms that it says would be otherwise impractical to manufacture. Online tech journal GeekWire reported that AbSci employs 73 people. The online funding database Crunchbase reports that AbSci had previously raised $43 million.
